Yarmouk University College organizes a symposium on the dangers of drugs

20/01/2022Today, the Department of Law, the Department of Pharmacy, and the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology in our college organized a symposium on the dangers of drugs. Due to the importance of this issue and its repercussions and danger to societies, The symposium included three topics:
The first axis was presented by M. Dr.. Qasim Mahmoud Jumaa, rapporteur of the Department of Pharmacy, about the spread, promotion, and use of drugs, and what is the role of the media and government institutions in raising awareness of the dangers of this phenomenon. The second axis presented by M. M. Asaad Hamid Jaafar Al-Najjar, a lecturer in the Department of Medical Laboratory Technology, about knowing the mechanics of the drug’s effect on the nervous system and knowing how to become addicted to the drug. Then between M. M. Muhammad Furat Al-Azzawi, a lecturer in the Law Department, discussed the Iraqi legislator’s punitive policy in confronting drug crimes and the extent to which this policy keeps pace with the developments taking place and the extent of its effectiveness in reducing this dangerous scourge.
